Native to: The Egyptian Uromastyx is native to Africa. Adult Size: The average length of the adult Egyptian Uromastyx is 8 to 30 inches. Diet: The Egyptian Uromastyx is a herbivore, so its diet includes mixed vegetables and fruits. Handeling: They are usually calm Lizards but beware when they feel agitated it is important to leave them alone. A whip from their tail will leave you bleeding. A Bite will result in you needing stiches. Ease of care: They require a 4 foot high and 3 foot wide cage. They need calcium sand because if they eat the regular sand it will make them sick. The sand must be deep enough to burrow in. They need a heating section around 95 degrees F. Also a cooling section no less than 75 degrees F. Breeding: The breeding process takes place between march and may. Females begin laying eggs 1 month after breeding. The eggs will hatch in 85 to 95 days. |
